Preamble

The purpose of this Cookie Policy is to inform users of the Chamini website (hereinafter “Users”) about the use of cookies and similar technologies when they browse the website.

It sets out the types of cookies used, their purposes, and how Users can manage their preferences and give or withdraw their consent.

This Policy applies to all Users worldwide and supplements Chamini’s Privacy Policy. Processing of data relating to cookies is carried out in accordance with applicable French and European law, including the GDPR and the recommendations of the CNIL (the French data protection authority).


1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on the User’s device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when they visit a website. Similar technologies (pixels, browser local storage) are subject to the same rules.

Cookies make it possible, in particular, to recognise the User’s device, remember certain information, improve the browsing experience and personalise the content offered.

Cookies may be placed by Chamini or by third-party partners. Users can manage their cookie preferences or refuse cookies at any time, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.


2. Cookies used and their purposes

The Chamini website uses four categories of cookies, which correspond to the categories offered in the cookie banner: Necessary, Preferences, Statistics and Marketing.

2.1. Strictly necessary cookies

Tool: Shopify. These cookies are essential for the website to function and for the Services to be provided. In particular, they enable:

  • browsing the website, choosing the language and accessing essential features
  • managing the basket and the checkout process
  • securing payments and access
  • remembering your cookie choice

These cookies do not require the User’s consent. Maximum duration: from the browsing session up to 12 months, depending on the cookie.

2.2. Preference cookies

Tool: Wishlist Plus (Swym). These cookies remember your favourites and certain browsing preferences from one visit to the next.

These cookies fall within the “Preferences” category of the banner. Maximum duration: 12 months.

2.3. Audience measurement cookies (statistics)

Tool: Shopify’s built-in analytics. These cookies collect information on visits to and use of the website (pages viewed, length of visit, traffic sources) in order to analyse and improve the website’s performance and the user experience.

They are placed with your consent (“Statistics” category of the banner). Maximum duration: 13 months.

2.4. Marketing and advertising cookies

These cookies and trackers are placed only with your consent (“Marketing” category of the banner):

  • Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram): showing Chamini advertisements on Facebook and Instagram, targeting those advertisements and measuring their effectiveness (for example, whether an advertisement led to a visit or a purchase)
  • Klaviyo: recognising visits that follow our emails and personalising our emails according to the products viewed

Maximum duration: 13 months. This data may be transferred to the United States, under the conditions described in the Privacy Policy.

2.5. Social networks

The website does not display embedded content from social networks. The links to Instagram, TikTok or Pinterest in the footer are simple links: when the User clicks on them and leaves the website, data processing is governed by the privacy and cookie policies of the platforms concerned.


3. Consent and cookie management

On their first visit to the Chamini website, the User is informed of the use of cookies by means of a banner.

The User may then:

  • accept all cookies
  • refuse non-essential cookies
  • or set their preferences category by category

Refusing is as easy as accepting. Consent is given by a clear affirmative action of the User (clicking “Accept” or deliberately setting cookie preferences), in accordance with the requirements of the CNIL.

The User’s choice, whether acceptance or refusal, is kept for 6 months. After that period, the banner is shown to them again.

The User may change their preferences or withdraw their consent at any time:

  • using the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page of the website
  • or by configuring their browser to refuse or delete certain cookies

Refusing non-essential cookies may limit certain features of the website (for example remembering favourites), but does not prevent access to the website or placing an order.

Some cookies are placed by third parties (Meta, Klaviyo, Swym). The User is invited to consult their privacy policies to find out how their data is collected, used and stored.


4. Retention and deletion of cookies

Cookies placed on the Chamini website are kept for a limited period depending on their purpose:

  • strictly necessary cookies: from the browsing session up to 12 months, depending on the cookie
  • preference cookies: 12 months maximum
  • audience measurement and marketing cookies: 13 months maximum, in accordance with the recommendations of the CNIL

The User may delete cookies already placed on their device at any time:

  • via their browser settings, following the instructions specific to each browser
  • or via the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page of the website

Deleting or refusing certain cookies may limit certain features of the website or affect the browsing experience, but does not prevent use of the essential services.


5. Liability and limitations

Chamini takes reasonable measures, in accordance with current regulations, to provide clear and transparent information about the use of cookies on its website.

However, Chamini cannot be held responsible for:

  • processing carried out directly by third parties once the User leaves the Chamini website or interacts with external services, which act under their own responsibility
  • the consequences of the User refusing or deleting certain cookies, which may limit or impair certain features of the website

Users are invited to consult the privacy and cookie policies of the third parties concerned for detailed information about their practices.


6. Changes to this Cookie Policy

Chamini reserves the right to amend or update this Cookie Policy at any time, in particular in order to:

  • comply with any legal, regulatory or case-law developments
  • reflect changes to technical tools, the Services or cookie management practices
  • integrate new services or technologies that require the use of cookies.


The version in force is the one published on the website at the time of consultation.

Users are advised to consult this Cookie Policy regularly in order to keep informed of any updates.


7. Personal data

The use of certain cookies may involve the processing of personal data, in particular browsing data or online identifiers.
